Rewind: Days of Thunder
Dir: Scott, Tony
Cert: 15
1990
Its me again . Another fine Tom Cruise film which a lot of people have forgot about . Most of you remember this movie for that cheesy song , but the script was brilliant and Cruise with Duvall put honest performances across . Tony Scott is a good director in his own right and shouldn't be compared to brother Ridley because both create different settings to their films.

Tom Cruise - mix in fast planes, bikes, cars or anything that makes a deafening noise, add a sexy woman, a few fights, a few laughs, a rock soundtrack (flashdance, what a feeling), and presto, you've got a critic-proof blockbuster. The script is loaded with stock cars and stock characters. With Duvall and Kidman the film has been luckiest in its casting. There's the love story between Kidman and Cruise. They go prettily through the motions, but it's clear Cruise's heart is at the track. The "need for speed" he felt in Top Gun has simply been transferred from the air to the ground. Audiences'll follow Tom Cruise anywhere.
